Christine Nye Joins TLC Board of Directors

Christine is one of three people who were elected to the TLC Board of Directors in January. Christine has had a lifelong relationship with the land in McHenry County. She has lived in McHenry the last 30 years and spent every childhood summer on the Fox River near Algonquin before that. She is a long-time TLC and MCCD volunteer. As the former Shedd Aquarium Horticultural Programs Manager, Christine specialized in food production and sustainable gardening. She is the creator of the Shedd Aquarium’s lakeside Migratory Bird Garden. She is also a former board member of Midwest Ecological Landscaping Alliance, current board member of the Sustainable and Ecological Landscaping Committee of the Illinois Landscape Contractors Association, founding member of the Chicago Excellence in Gardening Awards Committee and a sustainable Gardening Public Speaker. She came for the tomatoes and stayed for the prairie!
