Bringing nature home is easy with Conservation@Home, TLC’s responsible land stewardship support program for homeowners.

The program was started by The Conservation Foundation to give residents in DuPage, Kane, Will, and Kendall counties a meaningful way to contribute to the environmental health of their communities. In 2015, The Land Conservancy introduced this program to McHenry County.

Getting started is simple by implementing changes like:

  • Planting Native Species – Native trees, shrubs, and plants support wildlife, help rain soak into the soil, and provide beauty.
  • Removing Invasive Species – Invasive trees, shrubs, and plants may have a negative impact on local habitats and wildlife.

Qualified homeowners have the opportunity to receive a yard sign signifying their environmentally-friendly landscape, and their participation in the Conservation@Home program. For additional information download the Conservation@Home checklist and read stories about some of the people who participate in Conservation@Home.
