Dance of the Woodcock

Join us as we watch American Woodcocks performing their amazing courtship flights. These odd shorebirds put on their “sky dance” starting in early spring, where the male woodcocks will make several preent calls before launching themselves into the sky for a fantastic display and then return to the spot they left to start again. As described in a dedicated essay in A Sand County Almanac by famous naturalist Aldo Leopold, “The Sky Dance” is a dramatic show not to be missed!
