CANCELLED – Family Firefly Fiesta

Unfortunately, TLC has made the decision to cancel this event due to the emergence of another summertime insect – the Ades vexans mosquito which just hatched at Hennen. They are small, but fierce biters, especially at dusk! We want our guests, especially children, to have a positive experience in nature. This event will not be rescheduled for 2022. 

Enjoy an evening of fantastic firefly viewing at Hennen Conservation Area in Woodstock! Search for and catch-and-release fireflies to learn more about the different firefly species in our area. Make s’mores over a summer campfire, get tips for having an insect-friendly yard, and enjoy a special ice cream treat. Please do not put insect repellent on your hands if you plan to catch fireflies. All ages are welcome.
