This property was one of the first Conservation@Home certified properties in McHenry County, receiving the certification in May 2015. Marti Swanson has lived at the property in Ringwood since 1992 and placed a conservation easement on it in 2009. At just under 5 acres, the land consists of oak-hickory savanna and two man-made but spring-fed ponds. Adjacent to Glacial Park, this property provides a crucial “stepping stone” habitat for wildlife.

Directions: From the intersection of IL rt120 and IL rt31 in McHenry, head north on rt31 3.6 miles. Trun left (west) on Barnard Mill Road and drive for 1.7 miles. Turn right (north) on to Ridgeway Rd, drive for .8 miles and the driveway will be on the left (west). Park near the house.
