Final Friday Restoration Workday with Kim in Crystal Lake

The Lakowski Easement (0.75 acres) is one of our smallest, but most diverse easements at TLC. Neighboring The Hollows, the Lakowski Easement provides key woodland habitat for the local plants and animals. For this workday, Debbie (landowner) needs some help with:
1) clearing some trees that were downed in a storm
2) clearing invasive brush from the easement
Other important notes:
*Debbie has an african grey parrot named Romeo and if we are lucky he will visit us at the workday.
*Baked goods will be provided

Tips to make your workday experience safe/enjoyable:
Bring plenty of water – better to bring too much than too little!
Sturdy boots or old tennis shoes
Leather gloves or gardening gloves
Long sleeves/pants – prevent scrapes and scratches from branches
Certain bug sprays and tucking pants into socks helps guard against ticks
Hat – helps protect hair from embers
Sunglasses or eye protection
Feel free to bring loppers if you’ve got them
