Gateway Park Restoration Workday

Gateway is looking really spectacular with the woodlands opened up from our last couple of workdays here but there’s still a lot of shade loving trees that need to be removed. For this workday we’ll continue to remove black walnuts from around the southern grove of oaks to expand the area where the prairie transitions to savanna. These ecologically important transition zones support a wide range of plants, animals, and insects!
Directions: From the intersection of 23 and 14 in Harvard, go south on 23 and take the first right (west) onto Heritage Lane. Park on the side of the road.
