Spring Hollow Nature Preserve Restoration Workday

First we will be working on the trail near the house to remove some trees fallen on the trail and some young honeysuckle.

Then we’ll take a lovely (less than 10 min) stroll to an area where the border of Spring Hollow and Christiensen easement meet to finish the day (targets include honeysuckle, bittersweet and buckthorn)

Directions: Off of Fleming Road in Woodstock. This property can be accessed by the first driveway on the right hand side when heading north on Fleming Road. The driveway will split off in four directions, take the second drive from the right, which is also the third from the left, and continue past the first house until you reach the circle at the end of the road. This should be visible from any aerial map.

Tips to make your workday experience/enjoyable:

Bring plenty of water – better to bring too much than too little!

Sturdy boots or old tennis shoes will do

Leather gloves or gardening gloves

Long sleeves/pants – prevent scrapes and scratches from branches

Hat – helps protect hair from embers

Sunglasses or eye protection

Feel free to bring loppers if you’ve got them!
