Tour at TLC’s Boloria Meadows Nature Preserve

Let’s celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Illinois Nature Preserves System with a hike at Boloria Meadows!

Boloria Meadows Nature Preserve and adjacent buffers encompass approximately 50 acres of high-quality fen and sedge meadow and adjacent prairie, savanna, and woodland. The site is owned by The Land Conservancy of McHenry County and has responded remarkably to over 15 years of restoration activity—stewards have documented over 300 species of native plants, and uncommon fauna like the Baltimore Checkerspot butterfly are thriving in response.

This tour will be co-led by neighbor and steward Dennis Dreher, INPC natural areas preservation specialist John Nelson, and The Land Conservancy of McHenry County. Street parking is available adjacent to 7219 Millburne Court in the McAndrews Glen subdivision, Bull Valley, IL.
