Tryon Creek Woods Restoration Workday

June 6 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Tryon is nearly 40 acres and made up of primarily wetland and oak woods. Now that we’ve finished clearing the brush along the woods eastern edge we’ll continue working toward the interior. There are still several big mulberries to remove and enough buckthorn, honeysuckle, and bittersweet to keep several sawyers busy, so come on out and bring a friend!!
Directions: the property is located off of Barnard Mill Road 4.1 miles west of Ringwood, or 1.1 miles south of Tryon Grove Rd. Turn onto Oak Hill Drive, which can be difficult to spot. You can pull over on the side of Oak Hill Drive and we will walk to the site from there. Walk down the first gravel driveway, and then follow the mowed trail to the site. Listen for the chainsaws once you get to the woods. An ATV will be available for transport if weather conditions allow.
Nearest address: 6519 Oak Hill Dr, Richmond Township, IL 60071
