Tryon Grove Restoration Workday

September 8 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

This week we’ll be at Tryon where we’ll continue removing buckthorn, bittersweet, and honeysuckle. David has been busy constructing a new bridge made with timber cut from one of the fallen oaks we found on the site. It’s not quite finished yet but it already looks awesome!
Directions: the property is located off of Barnard Mill Road 4.1 miles west of Ringwood, or 1.1 miles south of Tryon Grove Rd. Turn onto Oak Hill Drive, which can be difficult to spot. You can pull over on the side of Oak Hill Drive and we will walk to the site from there. Walk down the first gravel driveway, and then follow the mowed trail to the site. Listen for the chainsaws once you get to the woods. An ATV will be available for transport if weather conditions allow.
Nearest address: 6519 Oak Hill Dr, Richmond Township, IL 60071
