Tryon Grove Restoration Workday

It’s been too long! Gosh, we haven’t been back here since the burn and I’m sure you’re missing our beloved Tryon as much as we are. We’ve really put a huge dent in the east end of the woodland but there’s still a ways to go. For our last workday we left off at the south east corner of the woods so let’s continue to free that corner of buckthorn, honeysuckle and, my personal nemesis, bittersweet (boo-hiss).
Directions: the property is located off of Barnard Mill Road 4.1 miles west of Ringwood, or 1.1 miles south of Tryon Grove Rd. Turn onto Oak Hill Drive, which can be difficult to spot. You can pull over on the side of Oak Hill Drive and we will walk to the site from there. Walk down the first gravel driveway, and then follow the mowed trail to the site. Listen for the chainsaws once you get to the woods. An ATV will be available for transport if weather conditions allow.
