Yonder Prairie Restoration Workday
August 17, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Come on out for this TLC restoration workday at the lovely Yonder Prairie! This will take the place of our usual 3rd Saturday timeslot. David and I will be subbing in for our two cool lady stewards, Carol Giammattei and Melissa Grycan, who will be out of town this week. Thanks to their selfless devotion to the site, the native vegetation at Yonder is thriving and new pockets of high quality habitat are being uncovered with every workday. Don’t miss this opportunity to see Yonder while the bees are buzzing and flowers are blooming! Let’s meet up in the parking lot where David and I will be waiting to guide you to your destination.
Directions: From the intersection of Kishwaukee Valley Road and Rose Farm Road just west of Woodstock, head south on Rose Farm for 0.3 miles. There will be an open field with a gravel turn off/parking area and a sign for Yonder Prairie.
Address: 1143 S Rosefarm Rd, Woodstock, IL

Sawyers Welcome!
Are you an experienced sawyer looking to help out at one of our workdays? Great!
We just ask that you demonstrate, to either myself or Mr. Ducci, your ability to follow safety procedures when
felling and bucking a tree at the start of the workday. All sawyers must bring their own gear
including: saw, fuel, bar oil, chaps, hearing and eye protection.
Tips to make your workday experience safe/enjoyable:
Bring plenty of water – better to bring too much than too little!
Sturdy boots are best or old tennis shoes will do too
Leather gloves or gardening gloves, an extra pair in the winter is a good idea
Long sleeves/pants – to prevent scrapes and scratches from branches
Hat – to protect your noggin and beautiful hair from flying embers
Sunglasses or eye protection
Feel free to bring loppers if you’ve got them — be sure to label them
