Yonder Prairie, an Illinois Nature Preserve, is a 71 acre wet prairie, sedge meadow, and oak savanna complex. Acquired in 2009, volunteers have cleared the majority of the mature invasive shrubs and trees, rejuvenating the bare, shaded ground-layer and turning it into a lush, diverse ecosystem. There are still areas of the preserve that need some help, so come on out and lend a hand! We will be working in the northwest corner of the property and down the lane.
