Learning about McHenry County’s Vernal Pools

Those who attended the vernal pool hike on April 24 were treated to a beautiful hike and lots of tadpoles as well as other tiny creatures!
Vernal pools are a little known but extremely important feature that occur in our McHenry County oak woods and are essential for amphibians and other creatures like fairy shrimp!
