Wednesday Walks: OAKtober Edition

Oaks are the keystone species in McHenry County, playing an essential role in the health and survival of hundreds of species of butterflies and moths as well as many of the birds we know and love. Join this series of hikes to explore the cultural and ecological lessons these ancient residents of our community have to share. Everyone who attends all four hikes will receive a set of 12 TLC note cards.

Dates:  October 6, 13, 20 and 27 from 12:00-1:00 p.m.

Oct. 6: Wolf Oak Woods (Near 9100 IL-120, Woodstock)
Oct. 13: Ryder’s Woods (750 Kimball Ave, Woodstock)
Oct. 20: Boloria Meadows (
park next to 7219 Millburne Court, Bull Valley)
Oct. 27: Irish Oaks Conservation Area (Near 19017 Lincoln Rd, Harvard), please register here

 

Fee: Free, please register for the date(s) you would like to attend above. Registration closes one day before each walk. Each event is limited to 20 participants.
