So Much Seed!

So much seed!
The McHenry County Administration Building is a TLC Conservation@Work-certified property due to their use of native plants in their landscaping.
TLC and volunteers received special permission to gather seed from a beautiful native grass called prairie dropseed in 16 parking lot islands. This prevented seed from being washed away in the parking lot, volunteers got to harvest seed for their own Conservation@Home yards, and TLC gets to restore their natural areas with this valuable prairie grass!
Kudos to the staff at the McHenry County Administration Building for their commitment to native plants!
