These workdays are hosted by our extraordinary steward, Margee Pieper, who has been a vital part of the successes at this site. Under her thoughtful leadership, the history and beauty of Irish oaks is finally revealed for everyone to enjoy. We’ll be revisiting an area near the pond on the west end of the property to work on removing the buckthorn and honeysuckle that was passed over the first time around.
Directions: From Rt. 14 in Harvard, take Brink St east for 1.7 miles. Turn right (south) onto Schultz Rd and continue for 0.3 miles. Turn left (east) onto Lincoln Rd, and continue for 0.5 miles. The entrance to the site will be on the right (south) and is a gravel lane between a wooded fencerow and a hayfield. We’ll park at the kiosk and walk in along the farm field.
